London Grid for Learning joins the IWF

The latest company to join Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) membership is the London Grid for Learning Trust (LGfL).
The non-profit trust is an educational charity that aims to enhance teaching and learning through the use of technology. LGfL provides ‘learning packages’ to schools which include safe high-speed broadband, technical services, online-safety resources and guidance, and unique teaching and learning materials. Being a Member of the IWF, LGfL will support IWF’s work protecting children and keeping them safe in education.
John Jackson, LGfL CEO said: “We have always ensured that our filtering providers are IWF members to keep London schoolchildren safe and secure online, but we are excited by this new opportunity to work closer with IWF in the field of safeguarding education, where we already play a leadership role which we are looking to develop further over the coming years. The Internet Watch Foundation does fantastic work to keep children safe in the UK and around the world, and we are proud to support them.”
Susie Hargreaves OBE, IWF CEO, said: “I think it’s great to have educational organisations joining us at the IWF. It’s very important to highlight the necessity of keeping children safe in education, and I am pleased we can work with LGfL who share this vision.”

What we do:
We make the internet a safer place. We help victims of child sexual abuse worldwide by identifying and removing online images and videos of their abuse. We search for child sexual abuse images and videos and offer a place for the public to report them anonymously. We then have them removed. We’re a not for profit organisation and are supported by the global internet industry and the European Commission.
