Children aged seven to 10 should be supervised while using the internet amid an “incredibly worrying” rise in sexual abuse material depicting children of those ages, internet safety experts have warned.
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), a charity that assesses and flags child sexual abuse material (CSAM) for removal from the internet, has reported a 186 per cent increase in photos and videos involving seven to 10-year olds.
The number of reports of abusive imagery depicting such children rose from 5,900 in 2020 to 16,878 in 2021.

The girl sent a photo to a boy in her class before the image and her phone number were added to all-male online chat groups - she later started disappearing before being abused by "unknown men".
