The UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC) is a national leader in online safety, empowering millions to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world. Since 2011, the unique partnership between the IWF, Childnet, and SWGfL has delivered life-changing support, removed harmful content, and shaped national policies to protect the most vulnerable.

We are unique. We work together to identify threats and harms online and then create and deliver critical advice, resources, education and interventions that help keep children and young people, and adults, safe. We share our best practices across the UK and globally and we work alongside 32 other centres across the European continent.

UKSIC is uniquely positioned to deliver lasting impact. Key achievements include:

  • StopNCII.org: our global platform supported by tech and industry companies, which helps prevent the sharing of intimate images online, is being used to protect two million images (a 97% increase from 2024) and has supported over 785,000 cases.
  • Safer Internet Day: reached more young people than ever before, with 57% of UK children aged 8-17 hearing about the day, alongside 50% of UK parents and carers.
  • Policy Impact: we have continued our policy and public affairs work focusing on intimate image abuse and convened multiple cross sector stakeholder for two roundtables looking at sextortion which resulted in guidance being shared to universities in the UK around financially motivated sexual extortion.

UKSIC is the proud coordinator of Safer Internet Day in the UK.
