By understanding the number of children involved, the nature of the abuse, and the context in which it occurs, we strengthen our ability to protect children, support partners and inform law enforcement action worldwide.
This section highlights the number of children recorded, the severity of images as classified in line with UK sentencing guidelines, the sex of children depicted, the ages of children, and the patterns emerging over time.
We also examine AI-generated images, where technology has been used to produce child sexual abuse material. Assessing this material with the same rigor ensures it is treated consistently under UK law, while enabling Members and partners to take immediate action to block or remove it using our Member services and datasets.
